The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office is asking the Board of Supervisors for $7 million to cover the costs of legal fees.
The money would help pay for legal fees the Sheriff's Office incurred from three law firms: Ogletree, Deakins, Nash, Smoak and Stewart; Sanders and Parks; and Wilenchik and Bartness.
Loretta Barkell, the sheriff's executive who handles the office's $271 million annual budget, said the agency wants the item placed on the supervisors' Dec. 16 agenda to cover the legal fees through the end of this year.
The agency requested that the $7 million allocation be made to the Sheriff's Office annually to cover anticipated legal fees in future years, she said.
Damn, just when Sheriff Showboat does something good (the video), he goes and does something like this less than one week later.

ReplyDeleteDrew and I were in Jay-Z's club when the video you posted was made. Drew threw me at a large Negro to distract him while he made his escape. I was arrested again and charged with "Interference Of A Large Negro About To Whip A Fat White Boy's Ass". I do not think that is a real crime. Is it? I need to speak with the fat, hairy Italian attorney.

I don't think that really is a crime though. I think you could probably sue. So who knows? You might end up getting enough loot to set up your own place.

ReplyDeleteTeam That Sucks Fan: Even though I continue to get in situations where I end up arrested, New Jersey is still better than Seattle and Drew is more fun than Hannah Lecter. In addition, Drew is not likely to kill and eat me as his diet is primarily Krispy Kreme donuts and Domino's pizza. Contrary to popular belief, he does not own a van. Drew has a very stylish Crown Victoria that previously belonged to the Asbury Park Police Department. It is even equipped with a searchlight and has no interior door handles in the back seat.

Pamela Anne: The memorial service for the 4 slain police officers is hard for you because you are a very empathetic young woman. Drew always says, "Even naked, that Pam is a sweetheart". I think it is meant as a compliment.
