My dog's response
So after pondering the question for awhile, she walks around for a little bit like she is collecting her thoughts. She looks at me and even shakes her head a few times. So finally she says to me, "You know, I've given this a few minutes thought. Let me show you what I would offer Nik Richie to appear at a club I own or party I was throwing."

ReplyDeletewell played.
Thank you.
ReplyDeleteSpurs is your greyhound and ex racing dog?
ReplyDeleteNo, actually she isn't.
ReplyDeleteYou want to know something about greyhounds? They take the puppies out to the track when they are a few months old. Some of them stop running after the rabbit on the rail once they figure out they can't catch it. So the dogs are taken off the track and aren't brought up to be race dogs.
But she has the build to be a racing dog. She's really fast Q. Like really fast. Up close, it's so fun to watch her fun.
Yea we used to have a greyhound years ago. It wasnt a racing dog either, the ones that are racers when they are young actually get to chase real jackrabbits by the time they hit the track they have tasted blood. A good racing greyhound is one like u say think that rabbit is real, but if they fight others on the track then i think they can only do that 2 or 3 times then they are banned for life. I been around racing greyhounds off and on for years. My family owns some property where greyhounds are kenneled here in phoenix. I even owned a couple of racing ones but they never made it. They got a adopt a greyhound program which is pretty cool keeps them from goin to the gas house , which years ago happened all the time. They are vicious to other animals but wont bite people.
ReplyDeletemeant *run*.
ReplyDeleteQ:
That's pretty cool that your family kennels greyhounds.
"They got a adopt a greyhound program which is pretty cool keeps them from goin to the gas house"
Awesome.
I didn't know about them chasing real jackrabbits. Makes sense. For the longest time she really wouldn't run. I guess it took her awhile to get comfortable, now she runs around a lot. Just can't let her off her leash (I've done that a couple of times for "fun." Well, it wasn't fun chasing her).
"They are vicious to other animals but wont bite people."
That's interesting. I never knew they were vicious to other animals.
Yea when they let them all out together in a pen, if there is a fight even though they all have muzzles on if one goes down and starts yelping even the nicest greyhound will gang up and join the fight. Somehow they get their muzzle off and the fur will fly . Kind of like the Glorified housewifes website hahah
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing the info with me. I never would have guessed greyhounds can be mean.
ReplyDelete"Kind of like the Glorified housewifes website hahah"
Isn't that show just pathetic? "Glorified" is a great term to describe them.
